Do you have a personal project going on? A shot you keep coming back to in the evenings. A piece for your reel. A short film you started eighteen months ago and you can’t tell anymore if it’s any good. Your friends say it looks great. You suspect it doesn’t.
I can help with that.
ABOUT ME
I’m Laurent Benhamo. I’ve been animating creatures for feature films for 27 years, at studios including ILM and MPC. I worked on The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Lion King, Paddington and Beast.
In all those years, the thing that made me better was feedback. A supervisor looking at my shot and saying “this contact is weak, this arc is broken, fix this first.” That’s what I give you. The same notes I’d give in dailies.
WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Single Review is a snapshot. I look at your shot once and tell you what’s wrong and what to fix first. Good if you want an honest opinion, or a check before you send your reel to a studio.
3-Week Mentoring is real work on your shot. If your project is complex, if it needs hours of notes and several rounds of fixes, one review is not enough. I follow your shot from version to version until it’s finished. Not sure which one you need? Send me your shot through the form below. I’ll have a look and tell you honestly.
OPTION 1: SINGLE REVIEW, £150
One look, one honest answer.
What you send
Your reel, or one shot up to 30 seconds. Any rig, any software. A link to Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox or Google Drive is fine.
What you get
One recorded review of fifteen to twenty minutes. I play your work frame by frame, I draw over the arcs and contacts, and I tell you the most important things to fix. Then the work is in your hands.
When
Within five working days after payment.
-
A second opinion on a shot
-
Checking your reel before you apply for jobs
-
Knowing where you stand
OPTION 2: 3-WEEK MENTORING, £600
For a complex project that needs hours of review, not twenty minutes.
You have your own project, your own assets, your own rig. Maybe a creature shot, a full sequence, a short film. Some shots have too many problems to solve in one review. If I give you all the notes at once, you drown. So we do it the way we do it on a production. Step by step, version after version.
How it works
-
Week 1. You send me your shot. I do a deep review and give you a clear plan: what to fix first.
-
Week 2. You send the new version. I check every fix, tell you what works now, and give you the next round of notes.
-
Week 3. You send your next pass. I go into the details and polish. We take the shot as far as it can go.
What you get
Three detailed recorded reviews, each one building on the last. Every review is yours to keep.
Good for
-
Complex shots with many problems to solve
-
Projects you want to bring to a professional level
-
Animators who want to learn how a supervisor thinks, not only what to fix

FAQ
Do you need my project files?
No. Just a video of your shot or reel.
Will the feedback be harsh?
It will be honest. I’m not here to make you feel bad. I’m here to make your shot better.
What if I can’t send a new version every week?
Tell me. We can take a bit more time between reviews.
Can I get a refund?
You only pay when I confirm your review. If I haven’t started yet, you can cancel and get your money back.
Do you review 2D or game animation?
My speciality is 3D character and creature animation. If you’re not sure your work fits, send me a message first.
